The Alan Hull Songbook with Lindisfarne's Dave Hull-Denholm

In the summer of 2025, Lindisfarne gave us a truly magical night at the Sound Lounge, performing their evocative catalogue and raising the roof in the process. Now we have the thrill of welcoming back one of the voices of that show, Dave Hull-Denholm, with his own band, to play favourites and lesser-known gems from the songbook of Dave's father-in-law, the late and truly great Alan Hull.

Dave will be joined by Alan's grandson Evan Hull-Denholm on guitar and mandolin and Lindisfarne bassist Steve Cunningham for an evening of sensitive arrangements from the catalogue of one of Britain's finest songwriters. Alan Hull's wealth of musical admirers runs from Mark Knopfler to Sam Fender, from Sting to Elvis Costello and from Dave Stewart to Peter Gabriel.  

Having worked closely with Alan on what became his final solo album, 1996's 'Statues and Liberties', and as a sideman on his solo gigs, Dave is uniquely placed to further explore the Lindisfarne co-founder's sophisticated compositions. The evening will feature Alan's signature songs such as 'Lady Eleanor', 'Winter Song', 'Fog On The Tyne' and 'Run For Home' as well as less familiar early songs. All life is there in the work of one of the UK's most gifted storytellers, including the occasional journey into the darker coners, where Alan's writing never feared to venture.
