Simon Stanley Ward & Paul Lush + John Lovell (double bill)

Simon Stanley Ward’s infectious brand of roots-country, widely praised for its "honest Americana," was a big hit when he opened our recent Thank Folk It’s Friday event, just before Folk In The Park. This time he’s joined by none other than Paul Lush, much-admired across the Americana world as a member of Danny & the Champions of the World, as a member of Simon’s band the Shadows of Doubt, and for his solo work (check out his fine 2023 album ‘Six Ways From Sunday’).

Opening the evening will be John Lovell, fresh from the release of his excellent ‘Lost In A Crowd’ album, which he launched with an outstanding Sound Lounge show in April. He draws influence from Country, Americana, folk and blues genres via artists such as Foy Vance, Noah Gunderson, Johnny Cash, The White Buffalo, Gary Moore and many others. ‘Lost In A Crowd’ delves deeper into his evolving sound, blending introspective songwriting with rich musical textures.
