Rolling Stones 'Foreign Tongues' Release Party
‘Foreign Tongues’, the 25th studio album by the Rolling Stones, is nearly here…and we’re marking the release day, July 10th, with a very special evening, and all proceeds going to the Sound Lounge.
SL patron Paul Sexton is hosting an exclusive playback of the radio documentary he’s just completed about the album, featuring his brand new interviews with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood. You’ll hear them talking about how they made the record at Metropolis Studios, their relationship with producer Andrew Watt and the contributions of old friend Steve Winwood and beloved, much-missed bandmate Charlie Watts.
The Stones will also talk about the bluesy opener ‘Rough and Twisted’, the first single ‘In The Stars’, covering Amy Winehouse’s ‘You Know I’m No Good’ and the continuing influences of both country music and Chuck Berry.
Before and after the playback, we’ll have a special edition of Bring Your Own Vinyl, our popular monthly feature where you get to spin your records on our turntables. Bring your favourite Stones singles and album tracks to play (three discs a go). Plus! We’ll have a special draw on the night, with tickets to purchase at £5 each, to win the Deluxe Edition of the new album! The more tickets you buy, the better your chance of winning, and it’s all in the cause of supporting your local grassroots music venue!
