Plainsong featuring Iain Matthews & Andy Roberts + special guest Julian Dawson

Iain Matthews (Fairport Convention, Matthews Southern Comfort, UK #1 hit 'Woodstock,' US Top 20 hit 'Shake It') and Andy Roberts (The Liverpool Scene, Nina & The Dream Tree, GRIMMS, European touring guitar player for Pink Floyd's 'The Wall') are making a short run of UK dates, supporting their new Plainsong book, 'In Search of Plainsong,' published by Route books and the box set 'Following Amelia,' released recently in the UK on Cherry Red Records. 

The storied duo will pay homage to their long careers by playing a collection of songs from both their catalogues, as well as a variety of songs recorded by their band Plainsong, formed initially in 1972. That was the year they released 'In Search of Amelia Earhart,' now rightly regarded as an era-defining classic of British Americana. This will be a rare opportunity for fans of folk music and acoustic music lovers in general.

Opening for Iain and Andy will be Julian Dawson, the widely-travelled singer–songwriter, guitarist and author. When Plainsong reformed in the early 1990s, Julian was one of two new members, in a career that has also embraced work with  Richard Thompson, Gerry Rafferty, Glenn Tilbrook, Del Amitri and Dan Penn.
