Not Quite Jazz is an evening showcasing four London-based acts who perform music that is 'Not Quite Jazz'. Each act is inspired by jazz in one way or another without directly being a jazz act!

Our host for the evening, Kynda, will be headlining this show. This is her second show at our venue. Her debut, Fool's Gold, was praised for bringing in a style of music rarely seen at The Sound Lounge. The up-and-coming Hip-Hop artist delivers soul-infused tracks over traditional boom-bap beats. Inspired by jazz rap icons of the '90s, including A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, Kynda's sound can only is described as "old school and nostalgic with a contemporary message." Her credits include performing at industry events such as singing alongside Cat Burns at the annual MITS (Music Industry Trusts) Award evening.

emre, full name "Emre Dilen Nalbantoglu," is an artist who has been around the London music scene for a few years. His indie pop sound blends ballad and jazz influences, inspired by the likes of Rex Orange County and Matt Maltese. In early 2024, emre released a music video for his original song 'ribs' on all social media platforms. He continues to build his online audience, anticipating his debut release. emre has performed alongside RAYE at Wembley Stadium and headlined at the Barbican Centre. He regularly performs in venues across London, often with his band or singing whilst accompanying himself on keys.

Seyi returns to the Sound Lounge for a third time to perform at Not Quite Jazz. She is a singer songwriter with an interest in exploring genres such as neo-soul, contemporary jazz and R&B, inspired by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Cleo Sol, Raye, Nina Simone and WILLOW. She has a love for performing and is looking forward to growing her career and taking the industry by storm.

Practice Room 4 (alternatively known as PR4) are a group of musicians from diverse musical backgrounds coming together to make songs influenced by a multitude of genres and musical traditions. These range from Flamenco and Hindustani music to Jazz and Folk. Forming as a one-off band, hired to play a concert, the band excited audiences with their fresh musical takes - leading them to continue working on new exciting material. The band recently performed at a charity event which raised over £5,000 for Cancer Research UK.
