Los Jestos Slam Jam with guests Emyr Thomas, Owen Smith, Mark Castles and Los Jestos!
Everyone's favourite Improvisational Slam Jam Duo of Latin guitar with West African Djembe...and special guests!
Los Jestos are your familiar hosts and jesters for the evening! If you’ve never seen these guys before then it’s worth coming down just for their set! From classic 90s hip hop to naughties classics sliced seamlessly with Spanish flamenco guitar and African djembe, nothing’s really like Los Jestos! Expect an on the spot improvised song or two to entertain the night away!
Expect a whole new set of songs for your delight and their impros will be as hot as you set the gas! The Jesters will weave together whatever song you request of them. Trust me, they’ve done it all so bring your most embarrassing or comical ideas and they’ll make something peachy with gusto. Expect rock, pop, folk, Latin, reggaeton, pretty much anything you throw at them.
It will be a night to remember, and a night to forget ;-)
Los Jestos will be joined by:
Emyr Thomas: Emyr is a Welsh leviathan of a performer with a beautiful voice and Welsh language songs. Expect some classic covers thrown in with some excellently written originals. Emyr co runs the music scene at the Sutton and Epsom Rugby club and has a passion for community and music. His second slam jam, and gladly welcomed back.
Owen Smith: A brand new member of the Slam Jam family and a brilliant guitarist / singer songwriter. His band The Riflemen will be playing the September 11th show, but we thought we’d get him in solo first and let him entertain us thoroughly. We are very much looking forward to welcoming him to the stage!
Mark Castles: Los Jestos met Mark playing a local music festival and both Tim and Nathan looked at each other and said, “we gotta get this guy on the Slam Jam,” and here he is. Expect some banging beats on the kajon and some searing vocals and some sing-along classics skilfully looped on his looper.
