Caring Encounters - Ft. Dr. Sasha Norris
Caring Encounters is a Sound Lounge series inviting people to join a conversation about nature, ecology, the planet...whatever words you prefer. Our city lives are all busy and there can be little time to connect, however we know that connection to nature brings unbelievable benefits, including to both our own mental and phsycial health.
Dr Sasha Norris is a zoologist, a poet, founder of Herefordshire Wildlife Rescue Centre. Her day job is rescuing injured and sick wild animals, rehabilitating them and releasing them back into the wild.
Sasha has also written for BBC Wildlife, The Guardian, The Discovery Channel, the RSBP Bird Magazine & she co-edited the Encyclopedia of Mammals for Oxford University Press.
The reason we were so compelled to bring Sasha Norris to The Sound Lounge is because she is so human. She has a huge passion, her words weave wonders and she will have you totally captivated, as she did us.
CARING ENCOUNTERS sessions are a #PayWhatYouCanAfford talk, Q&A and include a delicious meal dished up from our little, plant-based kitchen. They are open to all the family. We want to help people reconnect and deepen eco-literacy among our community. Please invite everyone you know. Any donations help us to pay the costs of our guests and the food, but more than anything we want you in the room. So PLEASE come even if you are not able to pay anything.
See you there x
PS - We met Dr Sasha Norris at a music festival. We think that's important because it reminds people of the role the arts play in creating change, healing our planet and fighting the climate crisis.
